Most visitors see Dubrovnik through the same lens: the Stradun at midday, the city walls at noon, a queue for the cable car. It's beautiful — but it's only one version of the city.
Slip away from the main gate and the old town changes completely. Narrow stone staircases climb toward the hills, past laundry strung between shuttered windows and doorways that lead to family-run konobas with no sign outside. These are the places locals actually eat.
Our favourite hour is early morning, before the cruise crowds arrive, when the bakeries near Ploče Gate are still warm from the oven and fishermen are unloading the night's catch at the Old Port. It's a Dubrovnik that has barely changed in generations.
On our small-group experiences we build in time for exactly this — a quiet alley, a hidden wine shop, a viewpoint that isn't in any guidebook. That's the version of the city we want you to remember.
